Challenges + Safety

• Body temperature regulation can be difficult - keep an eye on sweating and overheating
• Multiple wraps build up pressure very fast! Watch for numbness or lack of motor control
• Always have safety shears, or seatbelt cutter handy and a blanket - it’s cold coming out of wrap!
• Wrap pulling on skin can become very intense very quickly. Fabric under the wrap really helps with this

Wrap terminology

Wrap thickness:

• Gauge = 1/10 thousandth of inch = 2.5 micrometers
• 60 gauge = 0.006 = 24um
• 80 gauge = 0.008 = 31um

Application methods

Use care when applying adhesive tape to skin - can irritate or leave residue

Laying base layer of non-adhesive and stronger tape on top provides strength without skin irritation
